Welcome to LearningCafe Meetups

LearningCafe Meetups are informal, conversational spaces for experienced peers to connect. While we keep things relaxed, we follow a few simple guidelines to ensure every session is valuable for everyone involved.

Who Joins Us?

We invite experienced learning professionals who are passionate about making an impact. Our members typically:

  • Focus on Results: Are interested in how learning drives real business outcomes and builds organisational capability and workforce.
  • Embrace Innovation: Have a keen interest in “modern learning”—from blended environments and performance support to the latest in digital learning.
  • Lead the Way: Occupy decision-making roles, allowing us to have honest conversations about the “grit” and reality of implementing change.
  • Value Pure Discussion: This is a “no-sell” zone dedicated to pure peer insight.

As a gathering of equals, there is no formal leader, and you are always free to come and go as your schedule allows.

Attendance & Gathering

  • When We Meet: We usually catch up from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on a date the group chooses together. However each meet up may decide a time that is more convenient.
  • The Vibe: Each group has about 20–30 members. We know everyone is busy, so there’s no pressure to attend every time. Usually, 10 -12 members join each session, making for a cozy, high-quality conversation.
  • The Venue: We meet at local cafés or hosted by companies and organisations. The venue is chosen to be accessible by public transport.
  • You are always free to come and go as your schedule allows,

How We Discuss

  • Rotating Voices: We take turns moderating, and the group picks our topics in advance so we can all come prepared.
  • Respectful Perspectives: Every voice is valued. We appreciate the different opinions that come from a room full of experts.
  • Safe Space: To encourage honesty, all work-related discussions are kept strictly confidential within the group.
